It’s very hard finding an HONEST plumber and R.McGlynn Plumbing is truly rare these days as Rob ( the one who fixed my bathtub leak) was honest and was able to fix the problem and suggestion on what I will need to do to update our system as our home is old. We called R McGlynn plumbing on New Years Eve after my mom’s boiler stopped working during a stretch of temps in the 20’s.   Rick and his crew quickly diagnosed the problem and provided us with numerous options to either repair or replace the system.   We decided to replace the old boiler as it was 40 years old.  Rick and his team jumped on it, and by January 2, the new boiler was installed and warming mom’s home.  This was all done during a holiday week, when most professionals won’t answer their phone…. I HIGHLY SUGGEST NEVER USING THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT A JOB COMPLETED FROM BEGINNING TO END. THE OWNER IS HEARTLESS AND REALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT HIMSELF. I have been trying to get the owner to return a call for 4 weeks due to a job done in 2014 on my aunts house and he never had the permits closed. Now that my aunt is living in an Assisted Living Home and on Hospice we needed to sell the house to afford the assisted living monthly fees and explained this every time we called to try to get the permits resolved. I was consistently told the boss is away and he will call me when he returns, this has been going on since 2/14 and the only thing holding the house up from its closing. I had to call off hours to actually get the owner on the phone since he thought it was an emergency call only to be told call back on Monday (3/17) and that it will cost me $500 to close it out. I told him I would have gladly gave the $500 in cash back on 2/14 if anyone contacted me back on what was needed. His response again was call back Monday. When I called back on Monday all i kept getting was the answering machine. Once again lack of concern or regard for other human beings. It's ok because Karma is a B and comes back 10 fold. UPDATE 4 WEEKS OF CALLING THE OFFICE WTH NO RESOLVE JUST THE BOSS WILL CALL YOU BACK WHEN HE RETURNS. LESS THAN 5HRS HE IS QUICK TO RESPOND TO A BAD REVIEW BUT STILL HAS NOT RETURNED MY PHONE CALL TO GIVE ME NEXT STEPS TO PROCEED. ONCE AGAIN IF SOMEONE WOULD SPEAK TO ME WITH DETAILS AND EXPLANATIONS THIS COULD’VE BEEN RESOLVED FROM 2/14. ONLY THING I WAS TOLD WAS SOMETHING WEIRD HAPPENED AND THE BOSS WOULD CALL ME TO EXPLAIN AND ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. I WAS TOLD ON 3/15 WHEN I CALLED AFTER HOURS AND HE THOUGHT I WOULD’VE BEEN AN EMERGENCY SVC CALL THAT IT WOULD COST $500 CALL BACK LONDAY AND I CLEARLY SAID I WOULD’VE PAID THAT ON 2/14 IN CASH IF SOMEONE WOULD’VE CALLED ME BACK. I FOUND AND PAID SOMEONE ELSE TO HANDLE YESTERDAY AND THE PROCESS IS ALREADY BEING RESOLVED IN JUST DAYS. FOUR WEEKS OF CALLING THE OFFICE WAS A WASTE OF MY TIME. I THINK THIS SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. IF I WAS PLAYING A HAND OF BS I WOULD’VE JUST WON THE POT ON THE RESPONSE BELOW.

The work you are referring to was done in 2014 which we promptly completed. Unfortunately, the NYC Department of Buildings was changing systems and the permit was not closed due to their error. Permits expire in one year. You were indeed told by one of our plumbers that due to the fact that 10 years have passed, a new permit would have to be pulled. You were informed that the cost of pulling a new permit would cost $500. We would not have charged you anything. The $500 fee is payment is for the NYC Department of Buildings and an expeditor who is needed to move the process along in a timely manner. You also stated that you were not going to pay the required fee which is a refusal to move forward on your part. It is unfair to label us as heartless and insinuate that we do not complete the job. That is simply untrue.

Rick and the team was awesome. I had a 24 year old gas boiler water heater unit that keeps having issues. Rick correctly identified that it had substantial built up of carbons in the heat exchanger and it was basically time to replace the whole unit. The team was able to take the old one out and put a new boiler in on the same day and it has since operated without any issues. Rick is also taking care of all the permitting paperwork and inspection visits as well. What a service! Thank you.

They are completely unprofessional. Called last Tuesday for estimate on zoning heat system. He said will come over Wednesday or Thursday same week. No one called until Friday, to set appointment for Monday, 9am. I rearranged my schedule and doctor visit to accommodate. This is now Tuesday and NO ONE showed up. Didn't even have the decency to call. I will make sure ALL my neighbors hear about this.

Nothing they came 2 guys took pictures and said they were leaving to office would call me with next appt. Never did horrible never again. I asked can you at least fix my sink they said we will do it together. I called roto rooter the nicest company the guy came on his own did the job did not complain about walking up the steps job was well done .. My Mom will never call those people again ever ...I wish i was there my mom would have never called them period and then deal with this garbage at all. and the boss Rick never did anything I guess his workers are his boss.
