Not sure 5 star for quote visit, but 1 star because i'm getting nothing but hung up on when I try and call back to the front office. Jason came out for a AC replacement visit...looking to do a heat pump. This was one of the competitive quotes I was getting and he came very highly recommended from the neighborhood group. And indeed, he took at look at the system, had some excellent words of advice, solid observations about the demands and opportunities for the system, and said he'd get a quote over to me soon. I left that call with him ranked in the top 2, if not the top, of the service calls. But it's been weeks later and I've had the opposite experience. I called to leave a message on the business line...no response for days. Called again, and and started to talk with the front of house person, and our line was disconnected (at least that's me giving the benefit of the doubt at first). Then I called back, and she actively hung up on me. In fact, called again, hung up on again. I ended up leaving another message...two I think. But the calls are simply not returned. Not sure what's going on, but I have to take my business elsewhere. YMMV Services Heating system installation

Jason was going to come one Saturday morning between 9 and 11. He called me at 9 am that Saturday morning to inform me he could not make it; he told me his truck was towed the prior night and didn't have the supplies he would need. He said he would contact us Monday once he knows more. I did not hear from him Minday and I waited until Tuesday afternoon then messaged him, but no response. I tried calling on Thursday, but he did not pick up; I tried leaving a voicemail as well but the inbox was full.

SureFire Mechanical is a professional and top-notch company. I've had trouble finding someone to handle my furnace maintenance: had a few instances of people just not being professionals, leaving me hanging when we had a scheduled appointment, not really doing a thorough job, or leaving me with a furnace that was "sort of" functional. SureFire Mechanical's personnel, on the other hand, are extremely professional. They are easy to make an appointment with (they respond to email or phone), do a thorough job, are willing to explain exactly what they are doing and why, and the owner - Jason - solved problems that in fairness, were not really his issues, but he felt compelled to take them on in order to do a thorough job and leave things in a state that he was comfortable. With an old furnace - mine is 20 years old - there are so many things that can be serious hazards. Just because these units exist in every house doesn't mean that they are adjusted correctly, serve the owner efficiently, and that they don't introduce risk. I had every sense that Jason takes his company's work very seriously, maintains his own standard for safety and quality, and will stick with a job until it's finished to his satisfaction, including dealing with all the little unpleasant surprises that can come up in dealing with old equipment. ...Oh, and btw, he does this in a good-natured manner, with the wisdom of someone who has been handling these types of jobs for a while, doesn't surprise easily, and doesn't nickel and dime you in doing the work. Anybody would do well to hire these guys. Positive Quality, Professionalism, Value Services Heating system maintenance, Heating system installation

Absolutely amazing is an understatement. In the middle of a heat wave they were our one and only saviors. Not only did they squeeze us in during a day where there were no appointments but they were able to identify and immediately fix the problem. Our service technician Mike was Wonderful and the companies owner Jason was caring and responsible and in touch via phone the whole job. I highly recommend this company!

I have called Surefire MANY times over the past 5 years and cannot think of anything negative to say. Jason has fixed my issues time and time again and I guess the only negative is that there is only one Jason.

Terrible experience. Charged me $2700 and ripped me off. They keep on claiming that there is a leak but in reality it’s just a money making gimmick. Their tech came in to fix/recharge one of units and ended up completely ruining a other unit that was working fine. They thieve!!!! Not to mention. Both top and bottom unit stopped working after a third visit from these guys....keeping in mind the same units that were functioning fine historically after every refill of Freon. I suggest everyone reading, not to call this company any time u need a repair. U will end up paying four times more

I'm sorry to hear that you are so upset. My opinion from being at your home myself on 2 occasions was that you and your family were all very nice. Here are the facts, though, for anyone who may be reading this. First off, the amount you paid was over the course of 3 separate visits. Visit number one: the refrigerant charges for both systems were found to be low, and by your own admission they have had a history of needing refrigerant every year or two. Using electronic leak detection, I found a small leak in the indoor coil, but advised you that there is likely more leakage in the portion of the piping which is underground (bad practice to begin with by the way). You did not want to replace the coil since it was a slow leak. So I converted you to a chlorine free refrigerant and recharged the system (which is the right thing to do- both cost wise and environmentally speaking). You soon called back saying that the 1st floor wasn't cooling. Upon my return I discovered that for 11 years the 1st floor condenser had been piped to the 2nd floor air handler and vice versa. After explaining that to you, your reply was, "that's funny you mention that, because since you left the 2nd floor has been nice and cold". At that point I had to correct the installation of both systems at your home, and recharge them from the ground up with clean, chlorine free refrigerant (which is where most of your cost was incurred). At this time you expressed being thankful that I was the first tech in your home for 11 years that figured this out. None of this had anything to do with the unknown source of leakage, and you were never told otherwise at any point. 2 months later you call to say that the 2nd floor stopped cooling (the system that has not yet been leak tested in any way). We were not surprised to find it low on refrigerant. You were advised that you should have us find the leak, especially since it leaked down that fast. You opted against this and again opted to have it recharged. I like to try and help people as much as possible, but this has proven difficult here. I am always open to talk to upset customers (perhaps calling in to discuss dissatisfaction first, before writing a negative review is how most of us would handle such a situation). Let me know if you would like to make this right. I can only guarantee a system that isn't leaking. To expect anything else is simply irrational.

After buying a house with a complex radiant heating system consisting of 14 zones, I lost heat in two of the zones shortly after moving in. Because of the complexity of the heating system, l wanted to find an HVAC expert that was familiar with such systems. I reached out to Surefire Mechanical (based largely on the many positive reviews that they have on Home Advisor), and Jason and his team showed up promptly. They diagnosed and fixed the problem (two of the circulation pumps had burned out). Further, they noticed that my heating lines were full of rust and other sediment due to the fact that I am on well water and the lines are constantly topped-off with water that is high in sediment, minerals and metals. This was preventing the circulatory pumps from running efficiently and causing them to burn out prematurely. As such, we decided to install a whole house water filter (that I purchased from Amazon), which Jason installed seamlessly. Jason also flushed all of the water in the 14 zones (many of which were becoming clogged) so that the lines contained only filtered water (without the high sediment, minerals and metals content). We have not had any circulation pump issues since, and our water quality has been immensely improved. In addition to the work above, I have used Surefire Mechanical for several other HVAC needs, including servicing my oil burner and hot water heater, rerouting my plumbing in order to relocate a washer and dryer, fixing a leak in my shower plumbing, and servicing my central air conditioning units. I highly recommend Jason and Surefire Mechanical for your HVAC needs. After 2+ years of using them, they always show up promptly and fix any problems efficiently.
