New Overpriced | $1,200–1,400 I was very disappointed in the ownership. They tried to save me $200 by giving me a water heater that didn't fit where they originally had hoped. Turns out the water heater was badly dented and scratched! I refused to accept it and stated I was not told about damage. The installer guys were great. Not their fault. When they put the old one back, it leaked. Long story short, they ended up putting a new one in at full price. I doubt I'll ever use Leone again. Overpriced | $500–600 EXCESSIVELY CHARGED This review is for service rendered by Leone Plumbing & Heating on April 27, 2026. Our initial call was to Miller Plumbing in Rush, NY. Little did we know that Miller Plumbing was purchased weeks earlier by Leone. We arranged for new guts for our 40 year old toilet. On the phone inquiry we were asked if perhaps we shouldn’t replace the toilet as a new toilet would be $900 vs. a repair at $400 after which we would still have a 40 year old toilet. Given further deliberation, we were asked to text pictures and provide manufacturer name (Kohler) after which a return call from Leone suggested the repair would be in the neighborhood of $300-$350 to which we agreed to proceed with service. The service was completed same day by Matt at which time he presented the final bill of $594.00. We paid the bill in full and followed up with the company regarding the excessive charge for services. Upon questioning the service charge, the reply was that aside from the guts, the service mechanic also had to replace the toilet lever handle (a less than $10 item at any box store). Management ultimately agreed to refund $100 of the service charge and $8 tax. So new guts and a new lever handle ended up being a total of $486 which was still excessively over their phone estimate of $300-350. Suffice it to say, the GOOD: 1. The personnel were courteous on the phone, 2. The service was completed in a timely manner, and 3. The portion they agreed to refund was honored. We did learn our lesson, and will never request service from Leone Plumbing & Heating, again. Why? Simply put, the BAD: 1. Their service charges were outrageous for this repair; 2. The bill was not itemized for parts vs. labor costs; and 3. They are, evidently, in the business of selling new fixtures as opposed to repairing existing fixtures unless, perhaps, the fixtures have fewer years on them. We can appreciate the fact Leone is in business and requires profit to be successful. We wish them no ill will; but sometimes the choice one makes is a mistake. When the initial call came in regarding a 40+ year old Kohler toilet, we specifically advised that the most practical long-term option would likely be replacement, not repair. The reason for that recommendation was simple: once a toilet is 40+ years old, repairs can become unpredictable, parts may not fit or function the same way they would on a newer toilet, and even after repairs are made, the customer is still left with a very old fixture. We explained that a more complete rebuild would typically be in the range of approximately $400–$450, while replacing the toilet would be approximately $900, which we believed would be the better long-term investment. After photos were sent, we explained that there may be a possibility of making a more limited repair in the $300–$350 range, but we also explained that there would be no guarantee due to the age of the toilet and the condition of the internal parts. The customer chose to proceed with repair rather than replacement. When our technician arrived, the toilet required more than just the basic repair discussed over the phone. In addition to internal tank components, the toilet lever handle also had to be replaced. The final invoice reflected the service call, technician time, labor, vehicle/travel expense, stocked material, and the work performed on an older fixture. We understand that some individual parts may appear inexpensive when viewed at a retail store, but a professional plumbing repair charge is not based only on the shelf price of a part. It also includes having a trained technician dispatched, diagnosing the issue, carrying materials, completing the repair the same day, testing the fixture, insurance, overhead, and standing behind the service performed. That said, after the customer questioned the invoice, we reviewed the matter and issued a $108 refund, including tax, as a good-faith adjustment. The customer acknowledged several positives, including that our staff was courteous, the work was completed promptly, and the refund was honored. We do respectfully disagree with the suggestion that we were only trying to sell a new fixture. In fact, the opposite occurred: we recommended replacement because we believed it was the better value, but when THE CUSTOMER CHOSE to repair, we performed the repair as requested. We always try to be transparent with customers, especially when older fixtures are involved. We are sorry this customer felt the repair cost exceeded expectations, but we believe our recommendation, service, same-day response, and good-faith refund were reasonable under the circumstances.
