I called this company on Friday about 2pm, they were highly recommended from a close friend of the owners. I told the receptionist the name of the person who recommended them. She recognized the persons name but it seemed to make no difference either way. We live about a 5 minute drive from their office. I told her we had no heat and that we have an elderly adult and three young children living here. She called her supervisor then called me back telling me they couldn’t get here until Monday. And if the weather was adverse they wouldn’t come Monday either. She proceeded to explain to me her payment policy.. $145.00 just to walk in the door for a diagnosis. Cash or credit card with a 4% fee for using a credit card. Feeling desperate and at a loss I made the appointment for Monday. Immediately I receive a text and e mail outlining the details of their pricing policy and appointment confirmation. No care or concern that I had no heat with small children and a blizzard was coming. Just all about them and their “policy’s”. And I’m sure they would have cancelled Monday and not come until Tuesday being that we did get a storm. So that would have been 4 days with no heat. Thankfully another friend recommended someone who was so kind and knowledgeable. The owner talked to me for 15 minutes on the phone asking me what I knew about the problems we were having with the boiler. He couldn’t come that Friday but planned to come the next morning. My regular plumber ended up coming home a day earlier from his vacation and was able to come Saturday morning to help us. I am semi retired now but worked many years as an accountant in the service industry. I would not recommend this Dowling Plumbing to anyone. I would have used the second recommended plumber had my regular guy not been able to come. Thankfully there are still good business people out there that understand your needs as if they were their own. Not just about the money. But an all around sense of doing what is right. He was kind, compassionate and professional. It wasn’t all about “policy” and money, he cared about the persons problems. I called him to cancel telling him my regular plumber was coming and he said “ that’s fine, I hope he can fix everything, if you still need me please call”. That’s good business.

I have used this company numerous times in the past for both maintenance and system upgrades, most recently to install a new Navien system which is an heating system and a new bathroom. I have always been extremely satisfied. Every technician that came to my home has always been super polite, knowledgeable and professional. They are very mindful of your home and use extreme care to protect your personal property. I recommend this company to everyone that considering upgrading the beauty and efficiency in your homes.

They installed a heating system a year ago. And I was having issues with it. I called last week to arrange a service time to fix it, and they said they'd call me back later to let me know when they could see me. After that, I called a few more times, but they never called. I wouldn't trust them anymore, stay away.

Called Dan initially for a backup issues, while the guys were here, I had them check a leak from the hot water heater. Determined to be my expansion tank. They followed up and replaced it ASAP. As usual great service and especially great communication from Tina! Thank you!

Updated: I've tried calling Dowling several times for yearly service and other plumbing jobs and I'm always told they'll get back to me. I've since moved on to a new go-to plumber. Dowling plumbing saved me. A different company installed a new heating system and, in the process, destroyed the major heating element but never told me. That company called the manufacturer during their install to troubleshoot and the manufacturer informed them they voided my warranty. They buttoned the system up and left without telling me. I discovered this issue when Dowling showed up to service the unit. They informed me of everything that happened once they found out while trying to warranty the repair for me. Dan Dowling called his rep at the manufacturer and got them to warranty the part, saving me $3K. I have since used Dowling for two other plumbing issues and the service has been prompt, reasonable and professional. Tina, who runs the office, has been great to deal with, too.
